Fit & size samples

Use the selected product and a defined sample purpose to reduce allocation risk.

Quick answer

Do size charts replace fit samples?

No. A size chart narrows the choice, while a product-specific fit sample can reduce uncertainty for the selected fit direction, rider profile and riding posture.

Project confirmation and evidence notes

Your next step: State whether the sample must answer a fit, material, color, appearance or pre-production question.

Approval reference: The approved specification, artwork version, written quote and accepted order terms control the project.

Project-specific confirmation: This page does not prove a certification, test result, factory ownership, customer relationship or fixed commercial term unless a named source is provided.

Fit selection is a project decision

Cycling apparel fit affects comfort, aerodynamics, layering and size distribution. A size label is not a universal measurement across all products.

Planning sequence

  1. Choose the intended rider and riding context
  2. Compare race, club and endurance-oriented directions
  3. Review the available size chart for the selected product
  4. Agree whether fit samples are required
  5. Record the approved size range and team allocation

Sample status

Sample availability, cost, timing, return conditions and whether a sample is pre-production or fit-only are confirmed in the quote.

Plan your sample

Start with the product and the question.

Choose a product and tell us what the sample needs to answer: fit, fabric, color, appearance, or pre-production approval. Include your US ZIP code and required date if known. Availability and sample terms are confirmed in writing for your request.

Size charts narrow the choice; product-specific samples can reduce uncertainty. Race, club, and endurance labels describe fit intent, not universal measurements. Review the selected product in riding posture.

Race direction

Close to the body with minimal excess fabric. Best evaluated in riding posture and with intended base layers.

Club direction

Balanced performance and comfort for mixed rider profiles, events and broader team use.

Endurance direction

Comfort-led planning for long rides, training and all-day programs; exact pattern remains product-specific.

Youth and women-specific

Do not solve roster diversity by assigning one pattern to every rider. Review available product-specific patterns.

Sample event

Run a controlled try-on, not an informal guess.

  1. Define the sample purpose. Decide whether the need is fit-only, material review, color proof or pre-production approval.
  2. Select the actual products. A size in one jersey family does not automatically transfer to another product or fit direction.
  3. Record rider decisions. Capture rider name, product, fit direction, size, layering notes and any exception.
  4. Review in riding posture. Check reach, shoulders, sleeve, torso, gripper and pocket access rather than standing appearance alone.
  5. Control the kit. Keep a checkout list, follow handling instructions and return all samples under the agreed conditions.
  6. Freeze the allocation. The coordinator approves the final size list before commercial release.
Project-specific conditions: sample availability, included products, deposit or card hold, outbound and return freight, loan window, cleaning, loss/damage responsibility and replacement policy are confirmed in writing.
